About IRAN COI
ICOI Component Society in Iran aims to achieve the highest possible standards in the field of implant dentistry and the highest ethical based standards in patients care through providing the profession with continuing implant education, advancing the science and art of implant dentistry and promoting the research.
Islamic Republic of Iran is a country with 78,000,000 people. 70% of its population is under 30 years old and it is one of the fastest aging countries in the region. As tooth loss is somehow an inevitable consequence of aging, dental implants considered as a permanent replacement of tooth loss are the best solution due to improve quality of life. Under carefully controlled conditions, dental implants make it possible for dental professionals to restore the chewing ability and oral function of individuals suffering from tooth loss with a very high degree of predictability.
Thank to Iranian renowned dental scientists, despite the struggles facing our country, implant dentistry has grown drastically both in education of professionals and treatments offered to patients nationwide.
An Internationally acclaimed association in the field of implant dentistry and an affiliate to FDI, ICOI (the International Congress of Oral Implantologists) is the world’s largest provider of continuing dental implant education.
ICOI was the first international society for recognizing and credentialing the implant education in Iran.
Scientific congresses and affiliate societies are considered as the major sources of ICOI activities in our country.
ICOI has had three affiliate societies in Iran which recognized one of them at the summer of 2014 as a Component Society due to rapid growth and actions of that society. A full description of this Component Society has been published in the November issue of ICOI news.
In the early afternoon of October 30th 2014,a significant step forward was taken whenthe Chairmen of two ICOI societies in Iran sat together to join their activities in order to improve the position and effectiveness of ICOI efforts in Iran.

The Board of Directors of the IRAN COI believes that with this merger, Iranian Dentistry will benefit from more centralized actions in providing educational facilities and credentialing programs in the field of implant dentistry.
Obviously, this merger will considerably improve the ICOI power , supervision and support in Iran, which these days is highly expected by Iranian dentistry especially in conjunction with academic institutions and official authorities in Iran.
